LABUAN BAJO TERKINI – The Cunca Plias Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) has announced outstanding results for the Wae Lolos Tourist Village in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

From January to September 2025, this destination attracted 11,081 visitors, setting a record since the establishment of Pokdarwis Cunca Plias in June 2023. This increase surpassed the 2024 figure of 11,015 visitors during the same period.

Robert Perkasa, the head of Pokdarwis Cunca Plias, attributes this success to the strong appeal of the village’s natural beauty and culture, which have made Wae Lolos increasingly popular among both local and international tourists.

Of the total visitors, 7,182 were foreign tourists, representing approximately 64.81%, while domestic tourists accounted for 3,899, or 35.18%. This growth underscores the village’s potential as a leading tourist destination near Labuan Bajo.

According to data shared by Pokdarwis Cunca Plias, there was a positive increase in tourist visits domestically. In the first nine months of 2025, 11,081 guests were recorded, breaking previous records, which reflects the success of marketing and destination management.

Robert noted that from July to September 2025, the influx of foreign tourists totaled 5,187, compared to 1,334 domestic visitors. The first half of 2025 saw a total of 5,765 visitors, including 3,200 foreign tourists and 2,565 locals.

“The number of visits continues to rise, marking the highest record since Pokdarwis Cunca Plias was launched in June 2023,” stated Robert Perkasa in Labuan Bajo,Monday, November 3, 2025.

He mentioned that in the past two years, European visitors from countries like France, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK, and Switzerland have predominated, while visits from Asian countries, including Malaysia, China, Japan, and Taiwan, also saw significant growth between July and September 2025.

Wae Lolos Resort Village offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich local culture that attracts tourists.

Stefan Jemsifori, Head of the Creative Economy and Cultural Tourism Department of West Manggarai, emphasized that the area boasts natural attractions such as waterfalls, as well as intriguing local culture and cuisine.

“Thus, tourism in the Super Priority Destination (SPD) of Labuan Bajo extends beyond the Komodo National Park area to include the surrounding regions,” he explained. This statement highlights the role of Wae Lolos Tourist Village as a strategic alternative for land-based tourism, enhancing the variety of destinations around Labuan Bajo.

This village not only showcase the unique culture and local wisdom of Manggarai but also features seven popular natural attractions among visitors. Located about 32 kilometers from Labuan Bajo, it is easily accessible.

Some of the main natural attractions in Wae Lolos Resort Village include: Cunca Plias One Waterfall, Cunca Plias Two Waterfall, Tiwu Galong Waterfall, Awan Pool, and Cunca Ri’i Waterfall.

Robert Perkasa is optimistic that visitor numbers to Wae Lolos Tourist Village will continue to grow in 2025, thanks to its stunning natural beauty and authentic local culture, which increasingly captivates international tourists.
